SFJ's "LESS IS MORE" approach to everyday glamour.
CLOTHING.
The androgynous look is very popular and let's face it, so much more comfortable than a lot of our uber-feminine garments. I think one of the sexiest looks can be a simple black tee half-tucked into a pair of distressed denim shorts or boyfriend jeans.
ACCESSORIES.
The wise Coco Chanel once said "Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and remove one accessory". If you are rocking sunnies and a floppy-brimmed felt hat, don't do large earrings or a chunky necklace. But if you are vibing a statement neck piece, try it with a simple top knot in your hair to balance your look.
SHOES.
I'm all about comfort. Sure you want to look good, and you can do this in a pair of flat sandals or converse. Heels are always fabulous - if you can manage them. There's no point wearing a pair of ridiculously stilt-like pumps and stumbling around like a newborn deer on a frozen lake. If you can strut your stuff like a Victoria's Secret model, then props to you, but always make the right choice for your body and heel-walking ability.
MAKE UP.
A simple tinted moisturiser, decent mascara and a nude lip is the perfect, toned-down el natural look for a day at work or Sunday brunch. Save the lip stick, heavy eye shadow and eyeliner for a night out on the town.
HAIR.
If you are an avid wearer of extensions, curling or straightening daily, try letting your hair go natural every now and again. Work with your hair type and either put it back in a messy bun or braid when half-dried. This will give you a relaxed, feminine look and also gift you with a subtle, gorgeous wave the following day. Also try to avoid washing your hair everyday. This strips your hair of natural oils and can make it frail and prone to breakage.
Always remember...."Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication" Leonardo Da Vinci.
