Skirts and sweaters for yustyle.com

Trend Report: Skirts and Sweaters

At Yustyle we love mixing different pieces and playing with clashing trends, especially in the transitional seasons. The skirt and sweater look mixes feminine glamour with boyish charm and is certainly on the rise as one of the hottest autumn trends for 2014. With its casual and girlie silhouette, practicality and comfort, this outfit will quickly become your new go-to trans-seasonal ensemble.
As seen on the runways in New York with Ralph Lauren and by Christopher Kane in London, the sweater/skirt combo is the stylish solution to banishing those winter blues and escaping your fashion rut this season!

How to achieve the perfect flatlay! For yustyle.com

Create a flawless flatlay!

If you are anything like us here at Yustyle and addicted to flipping through instagram fashion feeds you will be very familiar with the ‘flatlay’ and its rise amongst fashion styling, photography and social media.
It is a fabulous and fun way to be creative with styling and show off your new products and outfits without having to take an awkward selfie or for those who prefer to be behind the lens.
Here’s how to get more ‘likes’ from your flatlay:
1. Brand recognition
It’s all about the hashtag # when it comes to brands. If you are featuring certain brands, especially popular or iconic ones, it is a good idea to create a hashtag as other users who search for that brand will come across your images and hence, more likes! Also, a crisp, white background will add to a more professional looking image.

2. Theme
Pick a theme or colour scheme and stick to it! Whether it’s bohemian-luxe, cream and gold, French vogue or monochrome it is crucial to create an aesthetic image that tells a story. Your image needs to capture the viewer’s attention immediately or it will quickly disappear into the blur of the scrolling screen.

3. Layout
Layout is super important as it creates a journey for the eyes. Some people like to look at very ordered, Tetris-like images, while others prefer a more scattered and less structured image. Whatever your style, you need to create an image that flows. Always try to keep your flatlay products in a square and shoot in natural light – less editing and instant upload ability!

 4. Personality
As much as we love looking at clothes, what we like more is looking at cool, creative people and how they style them. Social media is all about people watching people; people want to see you and what you’re all about. You will gain followers because of YOUR individual flavour and personality, not by copying others. Be real and be yourself!
